Familiar opponents lie waiting in the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup Third Round on Sunday, as Boroughmuir travel to face Livingston in West Lothian.
After the international break last weekend, Andy Enwood’s side come into this one high in confidence following a dramatic comeback victory over the league leaders two weeks ago.
Four league wins on the spin stand Thistle in good stead as they prepare to get their 2024/25 Scottish Cup campaign underway, though they know a tough test is in store.

The opposition
Livingston currently sit in fourth position in SWPL 2, one place behind Boroughmuir in third. They are, however, level on points with Thistle, only trailing the away side on goal difference.
From their opening 12 SWPL 2 fixtures, the Lions have enjoyed seven wins, suffered four losses, and settled for one draw.
Livi ran out 2-0 away victors in their last fixture against Ayr United before the international break, with Rachel Walkingshaw bagging a second half double to see off the league’s bottom side.
That capped off an excellent month for Walkingshaw who - alongside our very own Cara Borthwick - received an SWPL Player of the Month nomination for November after contributing three goals in Livi’s three games.
As such, the defender will be a key player for the home side on Sunday as they seek revenge for the 8-0 trouncing Thistle dished out in the other domestic cup competition back in September.
Previous meetings
Sunday will mark the fourth time that Livingston and Boroughmuir have met already this season.
Livingston won the first meeting back in August by two goals to nil at Almondvale, before Thistle ran out comfortable 8-0 victors when the sides met at Meadowbank in the Sky Sports Cup in September.
In October’s league meeting, the Lions emerged 3-2 winners thanks to a last-minute Emma McFadyen strike.
Last season’s Scottish Cup
Boroughmuir Thistle will be looking to go at least one round better in the Scottish Cup than they managed last season.
Entering at the third round stage, Thistle suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen. Thistle took the lead at Meggetland before being pegged back and ultimately defeated by the SWPL 1 side.
