Team news
After missing out on last weekend’s victory over Rossvale due to injury, Becky Galbraith will be hopeful of returning to the Boroughmuir squad and continuing her impressive goal-scoring exploits.
Fresh off the back of scoring her first senior goal, winning Player of the Match, and being named in the SWPL Team of the Week, Leni Parrish will be confident in her chances of starting for a fourth game in a row.
Finally, three players from the Boroughmuir Thistle Under-17s squad - Emily Reid, Ava Chalmers, and Sophie Phillips - have this week been added to the first team squad in order to bolster Head Coach Andy Enwood’s options throughout an arduous domestic campaign.
The opposition
Kilmarnock currently sit one point and two places ahead of Boroughmuir in third position in SWPL 2 after enjoying a solid start to the season.
An opening day defeat away to league newbies Rossvale was followed up by a 3-1 victory over Gartcairn at Rugby Park in mid-August. Killie then went away to St Johnstone and picked up three points in emphatic style, scoring five goals with no reply.
Sky Sports Cup First Round action was next, with Kilmarnock getting knocked out by Hamilton following a 2-1 defeat. Then, most recently, they travelled back to face Hamilton at New Douglas Park for the second time in two weeks, this time registering a 1-1 draw in SWPL 2.
Previous meetings
In total, we have faced Kilmarnock 22 times since 2008. The hosts slightly edge the overall head-to-head record with 10 wins to Boroughmuir’s nine, and there have been three draws.
In four matches last season, Kilmarnock won twice at Rugby Park either side of Thistle’s 2-1 victory at Meadowbank, and a goalless draw between the sides rounded off the season on the final day.
