Boroughmuir Thistle are back on the road on Sunday afternoon when they travel to South Lanarkshire to face league leaders Hamilton Accies at New Douglas Park.
Thistle come into this one buoyed by three consecutive 1-0 victories in SWPL 2, but are under no illusions as to how difficult a test Hamilton will pose.
Defeat on Sunday could well extinguish any lingering hopes of a title challenge, but a victory or draw puts Boroughmuir very much back in the mix as they seek to realise their promotion ambitions.

Team news
After scoring her fourth league goal of the campaign, Cara Borthwick was voted fans’ Player of the Match following last weekend’s victory over Kilmarnock at Meadowbank. The tricky winger will therefore be confident of retaining her spot in the starting line-up and will be looking to exert her pace against the Hamilton backline.
Wednesday saw Jayden Simmons’ stellar defensive performance against Killie recognised by the SWPL, as they named her in their Team of the Week! The defender won 11 duels and made 17 recoveries as Thistle ground out another crucial victory.
The opposition
Hamilton currently occupy top spot in SWPL 2 with 10 wins and one draw from their opening 11 games. The Accies, who are on 31 points, sit 11 points clear of second-placed Kilmarnock, and 12 clear of a resurgent Boroughmuir side.
They have scored 44 league goals so far this season, and have only conceded five in the process - so Thistle know they’ll need to be disciplined if they are to break down the home side’s stern defence.
Key Hamilton players to watch out for include striker Josi Giard, who is the SWPL 2’s top goalscorer so far this season with 10 goals, and youngster Vivienne Strain, who was named in the SWPL Team of the Week after scoring a brace during her very first start last weekend.
Previous meetings
Sunday will mark the second meeting of the two sides so far this season, after Hamilton ran out 2-0 winners at Meadowbank in August.
In terms of the overall head-to-head since our first meeting in 2008, Hamilton edge it with four wins to Boroughmuir’s two, and there have been two draws.
