Michie makes Boroughmuir return

We are delighted to announce the permanent signing of central midfielder Cailin Michie who joins Boroughmuir Thistle from Heart of Midlothian!

The 26-year-old has penned a one-year contract with the club and brings with her vast experience playing both in Scotland and Sweden.

Michie - who began her career at Boroughmuir - can boast of being a four-time Scottish League Cup winner, three-time Scottish Cup winner, a winner of SWPL 1, and of having played four seasons in the UEFA Champions League.

The midfielder enjoyed an eight-year spell at Boroughmuir Thistle between 2007 and 2015 before signing for Hibernian.

She then spent four years with the high-flying Hibees, winning a number of domestic cups before taking her talents overseas to play for Pitea IF in Sweden in 2020.

Michie then returned to Scotland after a year abroad, playing for Glasgow City until 2022 before turning out for Eva Olid’s Jambos.

On re-joining Boroughmuir, Michie said: “We have one main aim for the season which is to get promoted, and we are committed to the process to get there.”

Andy Enwood, Thistle’s Head Coach, spoke highly of Michie upon the completion of the deal:

“To be in the position that we can sign a player of Cailin's level shows our intentions as a club moving forward.

“Cailin brings a wealth of experience from SWPL 1 and abroad which displays itself in a consistent level of professionalism on and off the park. Our younger players, in particular, will benefit hugely from having Cailin involved.”
