Boroughmuir Thistle’s Ria McCafferty has won the SWPL 2 Player of the Month award for April 2024 following two stellar performances against Livingston and Gartcairn.
The midfielder turned in back-to-back Player of the Match displays in closely-fought draws which helped Boroughmuir on their way to ultimately securing a top-four SWPL 2 finish.
McCafferty bagged an assist and a wonder goal directly from a corner against Livingston at Meadowbank on 14th April, before dictating play a week later at MTC Park and registering seven shots across both April matches.
She has since continued her fine form into May by scoring a delightful strike that was nominated Goal of the Game in Thistle’s comfortable 4-0 victory over Stirling University, and picking up a stylish assist following a nutmeg against St Johnstone last weekend.
McCafferty, currently on loan from SWPL 1 side Spartans, will be looking to add to her impressive recent goal involvement tally as Thistle travel to face champions Queen’s Park on Sunday, before rounding off the season at home to Kilmarnock on the 19th May.
