After a win last weekend, Boroughmuir are looking for another win to keep up their streak but Livingston are wanting their first point of the season
First Half
From the first kick of the ball, it was game on for both sides. Boroughmuir has quite a challenge on their hands as Livingston were trying control the first half of this game but in the 8thminute a penalty was call for Boroughmuir and who stepped up to take it? Holly Aitchison. She would score taking Boroughmuir 1-0 in this intense game. Livingston stepped up in the pressure for Boroughmuir and seemed like they would eventually equalise as they started to look stronger and they would eventually do just that in the 34th minute and then in dramatic fashion a penalty for Livingston and Beth Rennie looked ready to save the ball from going into the net, but it would go over goal giving Boroughmuir a sigh of relief. The game would go on still intense, both teams were fighting for the win. Close the end of half, Captain Caitlin Lynch would put her body on the line and would go down for a few minutes being attended to by medical staff but she would be back on looking strong. The end of the first half would keep us level.
Second Half
Early into this half we saw dominance from both teams but seemed like it could be an even match, but even though the dominance level was the same, Boroughmuir looked like they would score and in the 70th minute, Holly Aitchison would make it a double 2-1 to Boroughmuir with a beautiful strike into the net. It didn’t stop there because seven minutes later, Cerys Grieve would score her first of the season, a proud moment for her, the game would go on with Livingston looking more aggressive to try and catch up. Substitutions would start as goal scorer Grieves would be replaced with Jayden Simmons. Adian Ibrahim who had a fantastic game herself would be subbed off for Eilidh McNeil to come on and Ria McCafferty, who had a strong performance would come off for Jorja Trench to come on. The subs would show a good strength in the rest of the game and keep Livingston at bay until the final whistle.
A very even out game with both sides showing dominance, star player for this game goes to Holly Aitchison, A double in this game and 5 goals in 4 games is an incredible feat. Cerys Grieve also deserves lots praise, a beautiful performance and her first goal and hopefully more to come.
