After a free weekend, we are back in action on Wednesday evening with a trip to face Stirling University WFC as we kickstart our SWPL 2 run-in of four games in just under three weeks.
Wednesday will mark our fifth meeting with Stirling University this season after facing off three times in the league and once in the SWPL Cup. Thistle have the slight upper hand in the head-to-head having registered two away victories already this season, though Stirling ran out 2-0 victors in our most recent meeting at Meadowbank in March.
The hosts come into this one on a run of four losses in a row, including successive 6-1 thrashings at the hands of Kilmarnock and Queen’s Park. However, they may take inspiration from the fact their last league victory came against Thistle on 13th March.
Stirling are currently rooted to the bottom of SWPL 2 but there are only four points between them and Glasgow Women, so victory on Wednesday would go a long way in their quest to avoid the automatic drop.
Thistle, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win since February after suffering last-minute heartbreak in our two previous games. Victory on Wednesday would open up some daylight between ourselves and St Johnstone, and go some distance in helping us catch Livingston in third.
