Head Coach Andy Enwood has today commented on a number of players who have departed Boroughmuir Thistle during the transfer window.
The club has signed 11 new players during pre-season, while some of last year’s squad move on to pastures new.
Moreover, we can confirm that Olivia Murphy and Mhari Smith have joined SWF Championship side Falkirk Women on season-long loan deals.
There may also be additional incomings and re-signings announced by the club in due course.
Andy Enwood’s full comments can be found below…
Iris Ramage
Last season’s Captain is stepping back from the game to concentrate on her final year at University. Iris is both a player and person who fully commits to her responsibilities and she will be a big loss to the team both on and off the park. Iris is a Captain who leads by example and is always ready to put the team’s needs above her own. We all wish Iris well for next year.
Kim Goodchild
Kim is stepping back from the game after a strong contribution last season. After re-signing for the Club last year, Kim displayed a high level of commitment on and off the park. Kim was a big character in the changing room and we wish her well for the future.
Katie McCabe
Katie is moving on to a new adventure in New Zealand. Katie is a well-known figure within the Club and was always someone that could be relied on to put the team first whatever the circumstance. We wish Katie well as she embarks on her new journey.
Erin Stewart
Erin moves on after a season full of injury rehab. Although she didn't make the pitch last season, Erin has shown incredible resilience to continue in the face of many set-backs and we wish her well with both her University football and studies next year.
Abigail Varghese
Abi moves on after a number of successful seasons with Boroughmuir. Abi is an extremely talented football player who has made a big contribution in her time at Boroughmuir. We wish her well as she enters the final stages of her University degree.
Annelies Verbist
Annelies leaves Boroughmuir to focus on her final year of studies at University. For a young player, Annelies is a very mature player who reads the game very well and has the ability to stay calm in pressure situations. We wish her well for the year ahead.
Jennifer Brown
Jen moves on to pastures new after a season with the Club. Jen spent one year at Boroughmuir and without doubt has improved her performance which her next Club will definitely benefit from. A really good person to have around, we wish Jen all the best.
