Boroughmuir Thistle can today confirm that goalkeeper Toni Harkness has re-joined the club after signing a one-year contract!
An experienced shot-stopper, Harkness has played for a number of clubs across Scotland, including Glasgow Women, Queen’s Park, and Stenhousemuir.
The 34-year-old can also boast of having saved a penalty from an ex-Scotland international player and will look to use her experience to help Thistle start strongly in SWPL 2.
After putting pen to paper with the Meadowbank side, Harkness said: “It’s good to be able to have the chance to compete at a high level, especially at my age!
“Boroughmuir finished the year strong last season so I’m looking forward to seeing how we can progress.”
Head Coach Andy Enwood also expressed his enthusiasm at getting a deal over the line:
“Delighted does not do justice the level of my happiness that we have signed Toni for the upcoming season.
“Toni has already proved she has the necessary requirements to play at SWPL level. Toni brings a level of calm and consistency that will have a positive impact on the squad as a whole but specifically to the backline.”
