Brady becomes Boroughmuir player

Boroughmuir Thistle is delighted to announce that Scarlett Brady has agreed to join the club on a permanent transfer!

The 18-year-old central midfielder makes the switch to Meadowbank from fellow SWPL 2 side St Johnstone and will help bolster the spine of the Thistle team.

Brady - who can also slot in anywhere along the backline - is a determined and hard-working player who has already tasted SWPL 2 success with Montrose.

She began her career aged 7 with Dryburgh Boys before switching to girls’ football with Heart of Midlothian for a few years.

After a while in the Jambos’ Academy, Brady made the step up to senior football with Montrose Women where she was part of the SWPL 2-winning side in season 2022/23 before joining up with the Perth Saints last summer.

Brady spoke about the talented squad in place at Boroughmuir following the completion of the deal:

“I’m looking forward to the season ahead with this group. This squad is full of very talented players and I’m buzzing that I can learn off of them and become a better player.

“This season will be very competitive but I believe Boroughmuir will achieve whatever we set out to do.”

Andy Enwood, Thistle’s Head Coach, also commented: “Scarlett is a player that has come to my attention with no prior knowledge.

“In her time so far, she has displayed an outstanding attitude towards work ethic and self improvement. Scarlett can comfortably play in a number of positions and this will be a huge asset to the squad over a long campaign.”
