Becky Galbraith moves to Meadowbank

We are delighted to announce the signing of centre forward Becky Galbraith who joins Boroughmuir Thistle from Spartans FC Women!

The 35-year-old has penned a one-year contract with the club and joins ex-Spartans teammate Louise Mason in switching Pilton for Meadowbank.

Galbraith, who played under Thistle Head Coach Andy Enwood earlier in her career, also turned out for Hutchison Vale and Stirling University before returning to Spartans for the second time.

The centre forward bagged six goals and two assists in SWPL 1 last season, and currently sits third in Spartans Women’s all-time top goal scorer list with 70 goals in 142 games.

Upon signing for Thistle, Galbraith spoke of her eagerness to help the club achieve its domestic ambitions in the forthcoming campaign:

“I am delighted to be signing for Boroughmuir Thistle for the coming season! The club have set high aspirations to compete at the top of what will be a very competitive league. I hope to make a positive impact on and off the pitch to help take the club to the next level.”

Head Coach Andy Enwood also commented: “Becky is another player I have worked with in the past and her desire to compete is still the same, if not stronger than it was then.

“Becky is a proven SWPL 1 goal scorer with an ability, which I feel is under-rated, to link the play when necessary. It is a compliment to the club that a player of Becky's experience recognises Boroughmuir's intentions to progress and I look forward to her helping us in that pursuit.”
